Growing human connections and understanding through stories

What is the Untold Gallery?

The Untold Gallery is a series of human stories shared through audio. The gallery is dedicated to helping us look at the world through human experiences. With a focus on storytelling and dialogue, our gallery explores how empathy can help tackle global challenges such as prejudice, conflict, and inequality.

Through our online gallery, you can hear a person’s story. 100% of all proceeds and donations go directly to supporting projects lifting up refugee living at Dzaleka.

We believe in the power of storytelling

Season 1 & 2: Dzaleka Refugee Camp

Our first set of stories are from refugees living at Dzaleka. Dzaleka, the largest refugee camp in Malawi, is home to around 60,000 refugees; the majority are from the Democratic Republic of Congo. American teens interview Dzaleka teens about their lives. Why did they leave their home country? What is their life like at the camp? What are their dreams and aspirations? The refugee teens share their story and how they overcome adversity, and in the process, provide inspiration for all.

Walk A Mile in My Shoes

“Before you judge someone, walk a mile in his shoes.” Empathy is the word used to describe the feeling of seeing the world through someone else’s eyes because only then, can you truly understand somebody. Our goal is to have people like you hear the stories of these refugees and try to understand their journeys. Once you do, you’ll be able to notice the beauty within a person and the amazing potential and individuality they can spread. Empathy is the key to uniting people against dividers like race, culture and religion. It is with empathy that we bridge communities and are inspired to become the best version of ourselves.
